ABOUT DINAH:

My dance lineage birthed out of 5Rhythms, Continuum and Contact Improvisation, the movement teachings that have been my dance practice education for the past 20 years.

My biography and biology change each time my feet meet the floor, to practice the dance of letting go, dissolving and returning again to the beautiful mystery of being alive in a body.  I love creating an inspiring musical journey,  holding a safe and fun space so we can dance together with abandon, alive and pulsing with the full human experience...to practice the art of deep listening in the living community web that dance weaves.  To share our joy, loss, celebration, prayer, wildness, stillness. My gratitude is without end...for the happiness of dancing our lives together and the sacredness of our dance as a way to heal ourselves.  Surrender to your warm animal body, let's dance!

ABOUT RYAN:

Ryan is a trained Dancing Freedom Facilitator, a Contact Dance enthusiast and magical weaver of the full spectrum of world music.  He strives to create a grounded, sacred (yet not too serious) atmosphere for dancers to fully arrive in their body, their heart and their soul.
Over the years he has refined the art of orchestrating a gentle and smooth ramp up to wild ecstatic dance expression.  Nothing gives him more pleasure than to see a roomful of dancers losing it to the music he put together.

ABOUT VICTOR:  Sound & Movementscape Artist

VONOBO (Victor) has been a sound and movementscape artist for over a decade sculpting movement landscapes for human primates at many levels from large, 300 dancer tribal ecstatic dances to quiet, intimate somatic explorations of self and other. He considers himself a somatic anthropologist and brings this intelligence to the work/play of inviting people deeply into their dance experience. VONOBO’s background also includes somatic psychology, group facilitation, contact improvisation, theatre/stage improvisation, relationship & sexuality coaching. His joy is to provide opportunities for we apes to dive deeper into our connection to self, to the world and with each other; bypassing the modern, cognitive cultural defenses we have crafted that limit our sense of community and possibility.

ABOUT KRISTYL:

Kristyl has been dancing since she was in the womb. After 7 years of dance training growing up, she ventured out of the Rocky Mountains to find home in The Ashland Conscious Dance Community.  Kristyl has been a facilitator in Ashland for over three years now. Much inspiration for the playlists comes from local roots community artists, deep rhythmic soul jams, and popular eclectic songs. The Dance Ground, and Dance Medicine are both safe spaces held with the invitation to anchor in and explore the magic of our own rhythm and cells. With the deep practice of listening within and embodying change, we open to receive support from our community field. All are welcome. There is always an altar to drop in with and the knowing and hope that everyone will take good care of their bodies however feels most authentic.
